Katherine Chung, M.A. Counselling Psychology
About Katherine Chung
We’re excited to welcome Katherine Chung as one of MyLife Counselling’s Counselling Interns. Having completed her coursework at Yorkville University towards her Masters in Counselling Psychology, she is now completing an intensive year of supervised practice, extensive reading, and enhanced training with our team of counsellors. Prior to her Masters, Katherine completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph in Psychology.
Since graduating, Katherine has worked closely with men and women struggling with addiction and trauma as a behavioural counsellor with Stonehenge Therapeutic Community in Guelph. As a support worker with Community Living in North Halton, she’s been an advocate for adults and children with developmental disabilities and mental health issues. Katherine spent five years volunteering her time at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph supporting patients in the addictions and eating disorders program. She is currently completing another counselling internship at McMaster University helping university students from all walks of life through anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
Katherine draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused, and Narrative Therapy. Her experience as a certified personal trainer and Bootcamp instructor means that even when life is a struggle, she helps her clients find the determination and hope to overcome the obstacles in their lives.
Katherine values the importance of self-care in her busy life. She relaxes and re-energizes herself through her love of ballroom dancing, playing tennis, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
We’re happy to offer Katherine’s services at an affordable rate for people in our community who cannot afford our standard fees.
