Pauline Peters, M.A. Counselling Psychology
About Pauline Peters
Pauline Peters is our newest counselling intern at MyLife Counselling. Pauline has completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology coursework through Yorkville University and is now finishing her practicum under the supervision of our clinical director Mark Nixon.
Pauline brings with her a wealth of life experiences. Pauline has worked and volunteered in diverse settings including humanitarian and volunteer work in Kenya and South Korea. She helped developed school feeding programs, helped with childcare in orphanages, built school classrooms, and taught English as a second language. She’s also been involved in supporting families through co-leading support groups for couples and new and young mothers.
Pauline is also a working mother of three children and understands the practical and emotional challenges of balancing her professional and family life. Having survived three traumatic births, she also knows parenthood does not always go as planned. Pauline draws from her personal and professional experience in helping other people work through anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. She has a special interest in working with couples interested in improving their communication, intimacy and friendship together.
Pauline has already completed her Level 1 Certification in Gottman Couples Counselling in addition to drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused, and Person Centered counselling.
When she’s not in the office helping others, Pauline loves spending time with her husband and kids at their trailer, travelling, running, and baking!
We’re happy to offer Pauline’s services at an affordable rate for people in our community who cannot afford our standard fees.
